Now walk further into the exhibition space, past the year 1938 lit up on the timeline above. In front of you on the right are four large rectangular pieces of stone standing upright. Further to the right, on the back wall of the alcove, are several small panels that can be opened. These are about the “Kristallnacht” pogrom in 1938. The second panel from the left has a black-and-white photograph on the front. It shows two men. One is looking directly at the camera, and the other one at the first man.
